Q. How much damage do I have to do to my teeth to get porcelain veneers?


“Porcelain veneers are thin, high strength ceramic facings that are bonded permanently to the fronts of the teeth. Today’s technology allows dentists to fabricate veneers that are as thin as 3/10s of a millimeter. This allows us to accomplish the desired effects of the veneers (improved color, shape, and position), with little or sometimes no preparation (drilling) done to the teeth.  Today, the emphasis is on leaving as much of the natural tooth under the veneers as possible.
