Mary Calvi, anchor for CBS 2 News This Morning, News at Noon and weekend anchor for Inside Edition, is an award-winning journalist recognized for her breaking news reports on a wide range of stories across the tri-state area, including her coverage on the attacks at the World Trade Center, in 2001 and in 1993.
Calvi’s credits include 10 Emmy awards, including two for her live breaking news coverage, and one for an in-depth series on sexual pedophiles, “Predator Next Door.” She joined WCBS-TV in 2002 from News 12 Westchester, where she served as anchor and assistant news director. She also worked with News 12 Long Island and served as a national correspondent for USA Networks. She received a degree in Journalism from S.I. Newhouse School at Syracuse University.
Mary released her first novel, Dear George, Dear Mary, about heiress Mary Philipse’s relationship with George Washington, based on historical accounts, letters, and personal journals in 2019. It became an instant bestseller and also won a Historical Fiction Award for its audiobook. It was released on Smithsonian Channel and Amazon Video as a documentary.
Mary is also First Lady of the City of Yonkers and lives in Yonkers with her husband and three children. She also serves as a board member of the Hudson River Museum.
