The downtown serves as a destination retail center and is home to two major malls, The Westchester Mall and The Galleria, as well as a free-standing Bloomingdale’s, and several smaller shopping complexes. The City Center is exactly that, a vast development featuring a movie theater, restaurants and apartment complexes in the heart of the downtown district. The newly added Renaissance Square, which features a luxury Ritz-Carlton Hotel and 400 condominium units, has upped the demand and cost of living in the surrounding areas.
