Members of the Yonkers Fire Department will host the eighth annual Hogs4Hope: Falls to River Run on April 24, 2016 at 9am to support The Ronald McDonald House, according to a press release on Monday.
The Yonkers Fire Department, along with Road Kings of NY, will gather at Croton Forge Park, Croton-on-Hudson, with participants who will enjoy a 25 mile motorcycle ride through Westchester County to JFK Marina & Park where a festival that will be open to all surrounding communities will take place and consist of activities for children of all ages, raffles, live music, vendors and a pig roast.
All donations go toward The Ronald McDonald House, which provides support for pediatric cancer patients and their families.
The Ronald McDonald House New York provides a temporary home for pediatric cancer patients and their families. The house can accommodate up to 84 families and since their founding in 1978, more than 35,000 families have stayed at the House. The House offers programs for wellness, music, and art, along with activities for siblings, holiday and birthday parties and simply provides comfort and care for families that are struggling.
Throughout the years, this annual event has raised nearly $100,000 and also aids the Aidan Jack Seeger Foundation.
The foundation was established to address the need for newborn screening due to the genetic disorder Adrenoleukodystrophy (ALD). They help provide financial support to families of children with ALD and fund research efforts that will discover new treatments and ultimately a cure for ALD.
This fundraiser helps two incredible causes by creating not only awareness, but hope for all those who are affected by these diseases.
Registration will begin at 9am and close at 11am at Croton Gorge Park, located at 451 Yorktown Road in Croton-on-Hudson and the BBQ will take place at noon at JFK Marina & Park, located off Warburton Avenue at John F. Kennedy Memorial Drive.
The cost for riders is $25, for passengers $20 and for admission into JFK Marina is $25.
