What a Treat

Frozen yogurt stores are swirling their way through the County. Last year, Yogo-Berry in Scarsdale and FroYo in Yonkers opened; Korean-based chain Red Mango is opening four stores by end of summer. The latest to premiere is treat.frozenyogurt (8 North Salem Rd, Cross River Plaza, Cross River 914-977-3552). Slightly more tart than ice cream and lower in fat, treat’s signature milk-based frozen dessert comes in six creamy flavors—tart, chocolate, and vanilla daily, plus one of peanut butter, strawberry, or banana, depending on the day ($3.50/regular cup; $4.50/large). There are sprinkles and other typical dry toppings, but we suggest fresh fruit (strawberries, kiwis, pineapples, bananas, blueberries, raspberries) instead. The 19-seat Wi-Fi-friendly shop is open every day from 11 am to 9 pm, and there’s a patio for basking in the sun while rapidly licking your treat to oblivion.
