As a student at Westchester Community College more than six years ago, Joe Faraci saw an advertisement for a designer with programming skills that Berlin Productions posted on Craigslist. “I worked at a title insurance agency,” Faraci says. “I wasn’t doing anything creative or technical. But I was always a self-starter, I was always very self-motivated.”
He showed PowerPoint presentations he created using self-taught technical skills, and impressed Steven Klapow, Faraci’s manager today. “I am the person who received Joe’s resumé, and I saw he was a diamond in the rough,” says Kaplow. “He has turned out to be far more than a diamond. He is an amazing hire, and he continues to amaze me almost seven years later.”
Faraci has worked his way up from junior programmer to lead a team of developers that design websites and interactive projects, which have won awards including the Telly Awards, as well as The Big W Awards from the Advertising Club of Westchester. “We’re so tight as a team, it was really a group effort,” Faraci says. “I’m a problem solver and I motivate my team, because if I get excited about a project, they get excited.”
Faraci says he wants to see Berlin Productions grow. “I love where I am. I’d love to see Berlin as a company grow and keep positive momentum, and try to stay ahead of the curve.”
