Jennifer Battaglia started working at Regeneron Pharmaceuticals as a staffing associate in 2006. She has since been promoted four times, and, today, at age 28, serves as the senior manager of human resources, providing HR guidance to three senior vice presidents.
“She works with managers twenty or thirty years older than she, and she’s one of the best people they’ve seen, regardless of age,” says Ross Grossman, vice president of human resources. “She’s really smart and extraordinarily mature in her judgment. She has the highest potential of any young person I’ve ever seen in my career.”
Battaglia is talent the company wants to hold onto. Ten weeks after she gave birth to her son a year and a half ago, she was allowed to work flexible hours, sometimes from home, for a month. “We would have tied ourselves in knots to get her back,” Grossman says.
A native of Westchester, Battaglia, who lives with her husband and son in Millwood, holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Pace University and a master’s degree in organizational management and human resources development from Manhattanville College.
Battaglia says, “I hope wherever my career takes me, it leaves me in Westchester.”
