Westchester's Top Caterers: Tastefully Yours

Party Planner Michele Cohane of Briarcliff Manor has been using David Loesch’s Tastefully Yours since 1995, choosing the company to cater both her 150-person wedding and a surprise 50th birthday party she threw, in addition to other parties for her clients. “Regardless of size or type of event, everything is beautifully presented,” says Cohane, “but what always stands out are the hors d’oeuvres. Both events had a cocktail hour with hors d’oeuvres—the crab Vietnamese roll and tuna tartare cone were small bites everyone loved.”

Loesch has 20 years of experience in the fine-dining business, including as a New York Times four-star-rated chef. His cuisine incorporates different ethnic influences and distinctive ingredient combinations. Among his many small-bite offerings: hazelnut-crusted scallops with pear purée; artichoke soufflé with flatbreads; prosciutto-wrapped asparagus with lemon-mascarpone cheese; and butternut squash shooters with frizzled apples.

Angelina Lipman of Bedford is also a frequent client of Tastefully Yours—they’ve worked together on about 20 events in four years. Lipman hosts a range of gatherings in her home including poker nights, football parties, children’s birthdays, religious holiday celebrations, a lot of summer barbecues, intimate dinners with friends, and girls’ nights such as a tea party at the John Jay Homestead. “We celebrate both Christian and Jewish holidays,” she says, “and David is careful to deliver exactly what I’ve asked for, and his staff leaves my home the way they found it.”

And Tastefully Yours clients are, of course, not limited to individuals; the company has catered events for Eileen Fisher, Facebook, Bayer HealthCare, and, most recently, General Electric, who hired them for a Country & Western-themed party for top executives featuring a mechanical bull, cowboy hats, fireworks over the river, and a country band.
