The Portfolio: There are lots of rooms at this majestic center-hall Colonial mansion. If you have a small group, there are three choices once up the grand staircase: a loft space (holding up to 30), the landing area (45-person capacity), and a choice of suites—original historic bedrooms that can be outfitted with tables for sit-down meals or set up for cocktails. Want something a bit more expansive? Opt for the north foyer on the main floor, a semi-private room off the main dining room that accommodates up to 30. This is a quiet alcove outfitted with plush furnishings, sparkling chandeliers, and the pièce de résistance: views of the Hudson. If you have a larger group, you can combine this room with the dining room for a total of 200 guests.
Bonus: This hidden gem, in a brand-new restored space, features farm-to-table dining led by Scott Riesenberger, a renowned chef with stellar culinary experience (think Bouley, Union Pacific, and Alain Ducasse at the Essex House).
