Inspired by NBC News’s Ann Curry and her tweet suggesting people do 26 kind acts (one for each person killed in the Newtown, Connecticut, shooting), 26 Westchester mothers attended a benefit dinner and vigil at Benjamin Steak House. The event raised $5,000 for the Sandy Hook victims; Benjamin Steak House donated 26 dinners. Curry attended the vigil and covered the story for a segment that aired on Rock Center with Brian Williams.
