C.J. Lambiasi, a White Plains firefighter who grew up in Harrison, and his wife, Juliana, a preschool teacher from Thornwood, had attended several local weddings and wanted something different for their own March 2011 nuptials. For them, the floor-to-ceiling glass windows in the cocktail-hour room and ballroom at View on the Hudson, located in Rockland County, proved quite the draw. “We chose View on the Hudson because, let’s face it, the view of the water spoke for itself,” says Juliana.
Juliana held court at the reception under the 30-foot ceiling in the faux-finished, hand-painted ballroom that looks out to the Palisades and the Hudson River. “I loved the draped fabric that hung from the ceiling in the ballroom,” says Juliana, noting that gold chandeliers and intricately draped fabric is just an added bonus to the white-glove service she received.

“Out of all the places we looked at, the View offered the most extensive cocktail and dinner menu, and it was also affordable,” says C.J. Their 240 guests noshed on delicacies from a raw bar and enjoyed a crêpe station during cocktail hour. The dinner entrées consisted of salmon with scallops, filet mignon, or chicken. “They definitely have the best food I’ve ever had at a wedding,” says Juliana. That might be due to Chef David Bauer’s 40 years of catering experience. He also ran a three-and-a-half-star restaurant called Brandywine Inn in Norwood, New Jersey, in the ’80s and ’90s.
Ceremonies with up to 240 people can be held both indoors and outdoors. Packages range from $80 to $125 per person.
