Larchmont resident Tom Poleman, who started as New York radio station Z100’s program director in 1996 (officially making him one of the “coolest” dads around and a popular neighbor come Jingle Ball), is now SVP of Programming and Marketing for Clear Channel. He’s responsible for the overall programming at Z100, Q104.3, 103.5 KTU, Power 105.1, and 106.7 Lite FM, as well as stations in Philadelphia, Detroit, Boston, Providence, and Miami. Naming his all-time favorite albums is next to impossible. So instead, we asked him to pick favorites by mood.
1) Best Weekend with the Guys Album: The Who—Who’s Next “The Who is my all-time favorite band and Who’s Next is simply brilliant from start to finish. No better way to get the weekend started than with a little ‘Baba O’Riley.’” |

2) Best Album to Listen to with Your Daughter: Taylor Swift—Fearless “What dad doesn’t want his thirteen-year-old daughter listening to Taylor Swift? Not only is she a great role model, her music is well crafted and real.” |
3) Best Sunday Morning Album: The Beatles—Abbey Road “When it comes to the Beatles, Abbey Road is the best of the best. I think it has some of best signature songs from each of the four members, George Harrison’s ‘Here Comes the Sun’ being my favorite.” |

4) Best New York Driving Album: Billy Joel—Turnstiles “‘New York State of Mind,’ ‘Summer, Highland Falls,’ ‘Miami 2017,’ ‘I’ve Loved These Days.’ Pick your favorite highway. Need I say more?” |
5) Best College Flashback Album: U2—Under a Blood Red Sky “Okay, I was torn between this and The Police’s Reggatta de Blanc. But, for me, nothing says all-night frat parties like the live versions of ‘Sunday Bloody Sunday’ and ‘New Year’s Day.’” |
