Stew Leonard’s. The family-owned dairy and grocery store chain was once again named by Fortune magazine as one of the 100 Best Companies to Work for (it came in 64th this year).

Jerry Pickney. The Ossining resident won the prestigious Caldecott Medal for his children’s book, The Lion & the Mouse.

Indian Point. Its sirens worked this time during its latest test.

LOSERS

Con-Ed. The power giant pulled an Edward Scissorhands with its recent “tree-trimming” job in Pleasantville, angering residents.

Andreas Joyce-Gilbert and Justin A. Barone. The White Plains residents were apprehended and arrested by police for alleged burglary after attempting to make their getaway on a county bus.

White Plains residents. Preliminary estimates peg the city’s impending tax increase at 23.5 percent.
