This Month’s News In The Westchester Restaurant Scene

Pan-Asian restaurant Little Buddha (One Ridge Hill, Yonkers 914-358-9468) has opened in Westchester’s Ridge Hill offering Thai, Malaysian, Japanese, Indonesian, and Chinese dishes plus hibachi tables, a sushi bar, a bar/lounge area, and a room for private parties. The 150-seat plus restaurant is open daily for lunch and dinner. Owner Peter Lin has similarly themed restaurants in Rye Brook, Thornwood, Pelham Manor, and Yorktown Heights

Encore Bistro François (914-833-1661 www.encore-bistro.com), serving escargots, pâté and steak frites in Larchmont since 2000, has opened a second location in Rye at 67 Purchase St (914-481-8833)

New Rochelle’s Spadaro Ristorante (914-235-4595) is expected to open a second location at 50 Abendroth Place in Port Chester by press time…Fig & Olive (696 White Plains Rd, Scarsdale 914-725-2900 www.figandolive.com), the Mediterranean restaurant that showcases the coastal cuisines of Italy, Spain, and Southern France (olive oil is the menu’s central ingredient; no butter is used), has introduced a new spring menu

Playhouse Market (20 S Broadway, Nyack, NY 845-358-3575 www.playhousemarket.com), now open in the space that once housed the Helen Hayes Theatre, is a combination gourmet market with meat, seafood, dairy, and take-home meals; eclectic furnishings boutique; art gallery; and café with live music, cooking demos, and poetry readings
