We’ve got a list of outdoor and cultural activities that will rightfully kick off your first weekend of fall.

Bicycle Sundays

The Bronx River Parkway may be under some construction, but the long-running Bicycle Sundays is still on! This Sunday, enjoy the weather with a stroll, jog, or bike ride through the portion of the Parkway that is closed off to cars. A total of 13.1 miles, the closed course runs from the Westchester County Center (Exit 22) in White Plains to Scarsdale Road (Exit 4) in Yonkers. The hours for Bicycle Sundays are 10 am to 2 pm. New Rochelle Arts Fest

The New Rochelle Council on the Arts wants to see you at the New Rochelle/Pelham ArtsFest this weekend! On Saturday, September 26 and Sunday, September 27 from 10 am to 5 pm, you’ll have to opportunity to partake in events such as workshops, film viewings, performances, open artist studio tours, kids’ activities, exhibits, and much, much more! Don’t forget to hop aboard the free “Culture Trolley,” which will take you around town in style to see 34 private and public venues throughout New Rochelle and Pelham. This is a free event for people of all ages, don’t miss out on the fun!

Smithsonian Museum Day Live

Join several Westchester and Hudson Valley museums for a cultural outing on Saturday, September 27 in honor of the 10th annual Museum Day Live! Hundreds of museums nationwide are offering free admission to its visitors and we are pleased to say that the Katonah Museum of Art in Katonah, the Hudson River Museum in Yonkers, the Hudson Highlands Nature Museum in Cornwall, and the Hudson Valley Center for Contemporary Art in Peekskill are participating in Saturday’s event. For free admission, you must obtain tickets in advance by registering up to two guests online for one museum location only. Don’t forget to bring a printout of your ticket to the museum.

The Armonk Outdoor Art Show

Rain or shine, you can expect to have one fabulous weekend at the Armonk Outdoor Art Show. On Saturday, September 26, and Sunday, September 27, from 10 am – 5 pm, come and celebrate 54 years of fine art and fine crafts by enjoying 185 juried artists, 42 new artists, free guided tours, fun kids’ activities, and so much more! Find out why Sunshine Artist Magazine ranked the Armonk Outdoor Art Show among the top “Fine Art and Design Shows” in the NY Metro area! Enjoy free parking but please leave pets at home.

Lewisboro Library Fair

If it’s free it’s for me! The Onatru Farm Town Park is celebrating their 55th annual Lewisboro Fair in South Salem, NY. This year, the fair intends to highlight their Book Sale but they don’t stop there. The Lewisboro Library Fair is also offering many more attractions such as “Attic Treasures” and Toy sales, a silent auction, food, music, vintage cars, kids’ games, rides on the Wells Fargo Stagecoach, booths featuring a variety of specialty vendors, and a visit from the New Canaan Nature center’s Birds of Prey. This event is taking place on Saturday, September 26 from 10 am – 4 pm, rain or shine.
