A renovated old Cadillac dealership from the 1940s in Westport, Connecticut, houses Terrain, a 15,000-square-foot gardening and lifestyle store (plus café), owned by Urban Outfitters. “The average time spent in our Terrain store is two-and-a-half hours,” says Terrain President Wendy McDevitt. So just what’s there? A complete nursery of outdoor and indoor plants, plus home décor, antiques, furniture, containers, the work of local artists, and health and wellness products. Also offered are workshops, demonstrations, wine tastings, and landscaping and design consultations.
