Tea’s Health Benefits: Drinking in the Holistic Treatment

There are numerous benefits to drinking tea. Besides having the option of tea with no caffeine, most teas are loaded with naturally occurring antioxidants, the stuff that can help prevent cancer and heart disease, among other maladies. The South African rooibos tea, or “red tea,” is one of the most antioxidant-abundant teas on the market. It does not contain any caffeine, and is a natural anti-inflammatory agent. It is best known for helping to alleviate allergies. Green tea, especially, has many health benefits, from improving cholesterol levels, to reducing the risk of diabetes. Black tea has been shown to help lower the risk of stroke. Herbal tisanes like chamomile, ginger, and peppermint are frequently used as holistic treatments for bronchitis, nausea, and muscle spasms.
