Tastings: Winter Farmer's Markets

 

Pleasantville Farmers’ Market

When: Saturdays, 8:30 a.m.–1 p.m.

Where: Pleasantville Middle School • 40 Romer Ave

The region’s largest winter market, Pleasantville has upwards of 40 vendors, including Bobolink Dairy, BuddhaPesto, Hudson River Apiaries, Jacüterie, Neversink Farm, and Mead Orchards.

Mamaroneck Winter Farmers’ Market

When: Saturdays, 9 a.m.–1 p.m.

Where: St. Thomas Episcopal Church • 168 W Boston Post Rd

Expect grass-fed meats and goat-milk dairy from Stone & Thistle Farm, German-style baked goods from Kaffee & Klatsch, and bread from NYC’s Orwasher’s Bakery.


Ossining Farmers’ Market

When: Saturdays, 9 a.m.–1 p.m.

Where: Corner of Main and Spring Streets

Held outdoors year-round, Ossining’s market features winter produce from tri-state-area farms, plus baked goods by Kingston-based Meredith’s Bread.


Hastings Farmers’ Market

When: First and third Saturday of the month, 9 a.m.–1 p.m.

Where: James Harmon Community Center • 44 Main St

Ossining’s First Village Coffee will provide a caffeine buzz on alternating weekends, which should help you power through other vendors, like Pisticci Full Circle Farm.


Chappaqua Farmers’ Market

When: First Saturday of the Month, 9 a.m.–1 p.m.

Where: First Congregational Church • 210 Orchard Ridge Rd

Starting in January, Chappaqua’s market moves indoors for four monthly pop-ups featuring a rotating selection of its popular vendors.


Irvington Farmers’ Market

When: Second and fourth Saturday of the month, 9 a.m.–1 p.m.

Where: Main Street School Auditorium • 101 Main St

Knife sharpening (a must for home cooks!) is just one service offered at Irvington’s winter market. Other highlights include soul-warming Indian and Vietnamese prepared foods.


Bedford Community Farmers’ Market

When: Saturdays, 10 a.m.–2 p.m.

Where: Bedford Hills Train Station • 2 Depot Plz

Sponsored by community organization Bedford LIVE, the market is the exclusive farmers’-market location for John Boy’s Farm. Also popular: Pound Ridge Temima’s Bakery (a weekly sellout), Hillrock Estate Distillery, and Conte’s Seafood.
