Tarrytown Schools Face Budget Gap

The school district that serves Tarrytown and Sleepy Hollow can expect to face $5 million in cuts to services annually, if Governor-Elect Cuomo’s plan to place a 2-percent cap on property tax increases goes into effect next year. The cash-strapped school district has already eliminated 46 staff positions and has been forced to increase class sizes and make other service cuts to balance its budget.
