Launched by Croton
residents Emily and Jason Prince, the colorful Sunshine & Clover flower shop is true to its floral roots. “Clover is a small flower that you don’t often notice,” says Emily Prince, “but once you look up close, you realize that it is a secret gem.” This tiny shop is a lot like that. Full and natural-looking arrangements (“I love to mix flowers that people would never expect”) are displayed in new and vintage mason jars and are available for purchase with or without the jar, as a bouquet or individually. Offerings vary depending upon what strikes Prince’s fancy at the wholesale flower markets she visits a couple of times weekly. Home gifts and accents include small bulb vases, hand-blown hourglasses, and whimsical porcelain soda-can vases; seasonal décor like vintage-inspired mercury glass tea lights in the shape of Christmas trees ($12.50 to $25); chalkboard paint in fun hues like hot pink and Kelly green from Hudson Paint; and hand-pressed cake plates from Mosser Glass ($35 to $117) in pink, yellow, blue, and jade green.
