Spano, Astorino Disagree on Future of Indian Point

County Executive Andy Spano, who’s currently running for re-election, expressed his views on the much-debated future of Indian Point, stating that he does not support the nuclear plant’s continued operation and would prefer a gas-fired plant. Republican Challenger Rob Astorino, on the other hand, said the idea of closing down the plant will lead to an increased need for electricity, higher electric rates, and eliminate jobs at the plant.
