Smashburger
Everyone in the stand burger business has to have a gimmick, right? Smashburger takes a sphere of beef, and then smashes it flat (get it?) onto a griddle, a process that you can watch from the counter via live video feed. The result is a wide, flat, nearly crisp burger that is almost entirely char. Look for myriad toppings—plus three types of buns. And, like Shake Shack, Smashburger offers beer along with sodas and shakes.
