Sloop Brewing
(59.8 miles from White Plains)
Nanobreweries, recently called “the garage bands” of the brewing world by the New York Times, produce tiny quantities of beer, often in garages or rented industrial spaces. Sloop, a proudly nanobrewed beer, is made in three-barrel batches. Sloop was recently named one of Bon Appétit magazine’s 10 favorite nanobreweries by Joshua Bernstein, author of Brewed Awakening. You can find Sloop brews at the DeCicco Family Markets in Harrison, Ardsley, and Brewster, New York. Expect daring, one-off brews—just don’t expect a tasting room, tours, retail sales (or, for that matter, a permanent address).
