Last night, less than two months after Diane Schuler’s tragic two-mile drive in the wrong direction on the Taconic Parkway, which resulted in her own death and seven others, a Bronx man was stopped by state troopers while also driving the wrong way on the same parkway.
The man, who is from the Bronx, was driving north in the southbound lanes (north of Baldwin Road) and even had a similar blood-alcohol level to Schuler—0.20, which is more than twice the legal limit. There was no crash, as troopers were, fortunately, able to pinpoint and stop the man after receiving several reports from drivers.
