With Labor Day weekend behind us, it’s officially that time of year that—let’s face it—has most parents sighing with relief, and most kids dreading the return of homework: back-to-school season. And with that season comes…
MAIL. Lots and lots and lots of mail—from grades, to forms, flyers, and endless other school communications.
In a New York Times piece yesterday underscoring the trend toward paperless notifications from acamedic insitutions across the country, Scarsdale Middle School was highlighted as a school that will no longer print its students’ report cards as of this year, instead opting to make the information available (securely) to parents via the Web. Not only does this save a notable amount of money (and trees!), but it makes information accessible more immediately, as communications and grades can be both posted and viewed online with the click of a button.
