Misty Moore |
White Plains resident Misty Moore was named Director of Sales and Marketing at The Ritz-Carlton, Westchester. Since joining the hotel in March of 2008, Moore has held several positions, most recently as Director of Group and Catering Sales, responsible for hotel room and event space sales to business and social groups, including special occasions and weddings.
In her new position, Moore will direct the hotel’s strategic PR and marketing efforts in addition to heading up the entire sales team. In 2010, she was named the Five Star Leader of the Year and was the winner of the Chairman’s Circle Award at the hotel. The Business Council of Westchester’s recently designated her a “Rising Star” as part of its “40 under 40” program. Prior to coming to The Ritz-Carlton, Westchester, Moore worked for four years at the West Paces Hotel Group.
The Kensington, an enhanced assisted-living and memory-care residence opening this summer in downtown White Plains, has announced the appointment of Pamela V. Manna as Director of Connections Memory Care.
Manna, a Somers resident, has over ten years of experience in managerial roles with assisted living communities in the Westchester area. Before joining The Kensington, she was Program Director at Atria Woodlands in Ardsley, where she was responsible for all aspects of Alzheimer’s and dementia care. Prior to that, she was Director of Recreation at Atria on The Hudson in Ossining. She began her career at The Osborn in Rye where she was Recreation Leader. Ms. Manna holds a Bachelor’s degree from Iona College and an Associate of Arts degree from Westchester Community College.
VHB Engineering, Surveying and Landscape Architecture, P.C., has announced the appointment of two senior engineers, Mike Junghans and John Canning, to serve clients in the Westchester and mid-Hudson Valley area. VHB has been working in the region for almost a decade and in 2010 acquired the firm Saccardi & Schiff, Inc., based in White Plains, to augment its New York operations.
Junghans, who previously served as office manager at VHB’s Edison, New Jersey office, will be working on site and civil engineering projects in the Westchester and mid-Hudson Valley area.
Canning who joined VHB as a project manager, will lead the White Plains office’s transportation division.
Junghans’ areas of expertise include land development, permitting, site design layout, grading, utility design as well as stormwater management, residential development, and brownfields redevelopment.
Canning’s experience focuses on traffic engineering and transportation planning on projects with a combined construction value exceeding $2 billion, including City Center, the Ritz-Carlton, Bank Street Commons, and Avalon in White Plains

Carol Ann Malinowski has been named Director of Finance and Administration at Legal Services of the Hudson Valley, headquartered in White Plains. She will be responsible for administrative oversight of the $8.5 million nonprofit organization. In a statement, Executive Director Barbara Finkelstein called Malinowski “a strategic thinker with extensive experience as a financial manager and administrator.”
Malinowski brings more than 20 years of finance, strategic planning, and management experience in both the non-profit and corporate sectors. Malinowski has been a business development and financial consultant for numerous clients, including the Breast Treatment Task Force, and the Cancer Support Community of Southern Connecticut. Most recently she acted as a Senior Financial Advisor to McQuilling Services, Inc., of Garden City, NY.
Simone Development Companies has announced that LA Fitness, one of the nation’s leading health club chains, has signed a lease for 40,000 square feet at 260 Boston Post Road in Port Chester.
The two-story building, which was formerly occupied by Bally Total Fitness, is being completely renovated. LA Fitness will occupy the entire building, and this will be its first health club in Westchester County. The club is expected to open within 12 months.
Medical Management Corporation of America (MMCOA), a revenue cycle management company located in Brewster, recently launched a social media campaign as part of its continuing effort to go green and to
reach a broader audience. With more than 50 employees from Westchester, Putnam and Dutchess Counties and with clients and throughout the tri-state area, MMCOA is using its presence on Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn to reach out to current clients, employees and media.
Provident Bank, a subsidiary of Provident New York Bancorp, announced that it is taking measures to reduce expenses and position the bank for enhanced revenue growth. Repositioning of the company’s expense base will save approximately $10 million over the next year, with about half of the expense savings having been identified in personnel.A portion of the cost savings will be redeployed to new revenue generating initiatives designed to improve efficiency and enhance customer experience.
White Plains Surgical Specialists, formerly known as Weber, Weber and Yee, has joined the White Plains Hospital Group.
The practice becomes the first member of a newly formed division of the hospital, White Plains Hospital Physician Associates, developed with the intent of aligning local practicing physicians with the hospital. This new venture enables physicians and the hospital to share information, promote growth, best utilize resources, and develop quality care to its fullest potential.
