The county has received $4.5 million from the federal stimulus program, for green projects and projects geared toward conserving energy—including $200,000 for free home energy audits, $375,000 for energy and greenhouse gas audits of 50 county buildings, and more.
The audits aim to help the county reduce its carbon footprint by 20 percent by 2015, as part of the Global Warning Task Force appointed by Andy Spano.
