R5 Showdown Near at Indian Point

The often-controversial future of Indian Point Energy Center is slated to come to a resolution in 2011, as the Department of Environmental Conservation has set up January filing deadlines and a June hearing to argue whether the company will have to drastically change the way it operates to avoid being shut down. On the federal level, relicensing the plant to generate electricity through 2035 will also likely be determined in early 2011.
