Bestchester
The rain held off for the event of the year: Westchester Magazine’s 10th annual Best of Westchester party, celebrating the 317 restaurants, shops, services, etc., that were selected as our 2010 winners. Once again, more than 3,000 partygoers attended the event, which was held, as it has been in recent years, at the waterside Glen Island Harbour Club in New Rochelle. Missed it? Too, too bad. But as a consolation: visit our website (westchestermagazine.com) for more photos of the event. Oh, and by the way, while the object of this event is to have fun and sample the best that our county has to offer, it also has a charitable component: a raffle raised $4,000 to benefit the American Cancer Society.

Yurman and Yanks for Catch 25
David Yurman, a Bedford resident, and Kim Girardi, an Armonk resident and wife of Yankees manager Joe Girardi, hosted an evening in support of Catch 25 at the David Yurman boutique at The Westchester in White Plains. Wives and girlfriends of New York Yankees players as well as top Yurman clients were treated to cocktails and hors d’oeuvres while viewing—and purchasing—the designer’s newest jewelry, timepieces, eyewear, and fragrances. A portion of the evening’s proceeds benefited Catch 25, a charity founded by Joe Girardi and dedicated to providing educational assistance and support to families and individuals who have been challenged with ALS, Alzheimer’s, cancer, and fertility issues.
