Home-design aficionados are thrilled to welcome Patty and Frank Canale’s Savanna at Home back to Bronxville after a year-and-a-half hiatus due to fire damage to their original shop. While the shop sells high-end furniture, it also offers full-service custom design, with complimentary in-home service, layout, window and floor treatments, and reupholstery; more than 2,000 fabrics are available. Sample offerings include the Theodore Alexander line of handsome wooden tables, chairs, and desks (up to $10,000 for a dining table); the timeless Bentley Churchill collection of upholstered seating ($2,000 for an occasional chair to $7,000 for a sofa); and distinctive wool and silk rugs handmade in Nepal and Tibet ($200 to $20,000). Window treatments range from custom and ready-made silk, linen, and cotton drapery from Casa Fiora to the high-tech SheerWeaves—with a motorizing option—by Phifer Incorporated ($200+). “I like to mix things up.” says Canale, “but keep it streamlined, like a modern sofa next to a traditional side table.” â– Savanna at Home 116 Pondfield Ave, Bronxville (914) 337-9400; savannaathome.com
