Transform Granny’s old living-room chair—or a flea-market find—from drab to fab with a little help from Eva’s Design & Decorating in White Plains. Eva’s talented craftsmen reupholstered this Old World wing chair in a pewter-colored sequined fabric and hand-lacquered its wood frame to a high-gloss black for a dramatically unexpected look. “The chair is fashion-inspired,” says Eva’s owner Cathy Poses. “This is about taking my passion for glitz in fashion into home design. A chair like this would normally be shown in a traditional fabric with a walnut or mahogany frame.” The chair, as shown, retails for $2,500; custom orders only.
