When you join a gym, wouldn’t it be great to have your very own fitness concierge to keep you on track, both in the gym and in your kitchen? And what if this was a perk of your membership—at no extra cost? This is exactly the premise of Oxygen Fitness, a 10,000-square-foot fitness center in New Canaan, Connecticut (22 Pine St; oxygenfitnessct.com), that is opening soon. “Most people have zero interaction with staff after they sign up at a fitness facility,” says Megan Hoffman, fitness concierge and director of Group Fitness. “This concept is really about being a partner to the member and seeing that real results are achieved.”
The facility promises to be a one-stop spot for the hottest exercise experiences: cycling, yoga, barre, boxing, and more. One very in-demand trainer has joined the team and will be conducting his daily sought-after group fitness classes, which vary each day. “I haven’t missed his class in 10 years,” swears devotee Kristen Scott of Bedford, “except when I’m on vacation or had a medical emergency.”
