R5 Now Is the Summer of Our Content

The Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival kicks off its Summer 2007 season with one of Shakespeare’s most thrilling plays, Richard III.  Directed by founding Artistic Director Terrence O’Brien, Richard III will open June 12 on the stunning grounds of the Boscobel Mansion (1601 Rte. 9D, Garrison).  One of Shakespeare’s all-time most popular plays, Richard III, stars HVSF veteran Chris Edwards as Richard, a character O’Brien describes as the “ultimate master villain.”

The HVSF has been hailed by the New York Times as “one of the finest—and most entertaining—interpreters of Shakespeare in the country.”  Along with Richard III, HVSF’s summer repertoire of the Bard’s best will showcase As You Like It, beginning on June 20.  All performances will take place on Wednesday through Sunday evenings, with select Tuesday evening shows.  Tickets run from $25-$42, and are available by calling the box office at (845) 265-9575.  For more information, visit the festival’s website at www.hvshakespeare.org.
