“The house is Arts and Crafts-like,” says Bilotta Kitchens’ Randy O’Kane, CKD. “I wanted to get away from the traditional white kitchen.” The SubZero refrigerator is hidden behind stunning rouge acrylic panels with hand-painted gold stenciling. Playful metallic elements shimmer throughout the space, from the sheen in the walls to the stunning, satin-finish light that hangs over the breakfast table. The kitchen’s backsplash consists of vertically stacked decorative tile pieces with a ginkgo-like motif; the butler’s pantry backsplash is of brownish-red glass. The bamboo stools and breakfast table legs suggest an Asian feel. 
The kitchen features the details that define the Arts and Crafts style including the beveled inset cabinets with the protruding butt hinges and the pyramid-shaped hardware. Dark Emperador countertops and custom-crafted sinks work well with the vintage red oak hardwood floors and are offset by the light cabinets in both the kitchen and butler’s pantry. The kitchen island boasts a wide, custom-built, reclaimed wood countertop with hammered-metal corners. Its design, which leaves ample surface space for cooking, “was inspired by a Louis Vuitton trunk,” O’Kane says. The island itself houses state-of-the-art appliances, like a pull-out microwave and refrigerator drawer, and a food pantry.
