Looking for something easy to throw on? Had your fill of black, black, and more black? Consider chic wrap skirts in colorful cotton prints and denim, made right here in Westchester by Bedford Hills resident Sophia Morton.
“When I moved to Westchester and saw so many mothers walking around in their gym outfits, I grew horrified,” the former native New Yorker says. “I felt they should wear something more flattering, so I decided to make a line of wrap skirts that would look great on differently shaped bodies.” Looking for a creative diversion during a bout of postpartum depression following the birth of her third child, Morton began sketching and sewing at the dining room table in her new home. Two-and-a-half years later, Morton launched a line of easy-to-wear wrap skirts in lighter fabrics for warmer weather and Ultrasuede wool for cooler temps.
Her Lark line is offered at Beehive Co-Op in Mount Kisco. Prices range from $70 to $150 for women’s styles and $35 to $70 for children’s wear. Custom orders are welcome.
