Singer/songwriter Sam Beam—aka Iron and Wine—made his mark on the musical landscape by demonstrating how powerful music can also be extremely quiet, with hushed musical arrangements and whispery vocals. Iron and Wine, whose fifth full-length album, Ghost on Ghost, was just released on April 15, will make a stop at The Capitol Theatre on May 19 as part of a short, nine-city tour before heading off to Europe. Rolling Stone reports that Beam has been experimenting with adding brass and strings into his songs, so Iron and Wine fans can expect a fuller sound on the new record and tour.
