R5 Hot Plates | October 27, 2008

While Homer Simpson was silly for fast-food Dunknuts, we flesh and blood people crave a little bit more. Bradley’s gives doughna-holics 3-D alternative with house made, cream-filled doughnuts. Substantial, gritty with sugar — and so oily that they’ll stain the bag– these fat-bellied handfulls come laden with a sweet surprise. Their improbably tangy, cheesy cream centers fall somewhere between Bavarian crème and the cream cheese frosting on a carrot or red velvet cake. It’s a perfectly poised balance, where tang counters sugar, and heft makes the clouds carnal. Yum.
