Prometheus Release Date: October 11, 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment It’s been more than three decades since director Ridley Scott revisited his squishy, squirmy Alien universe, but he made the return trip earlier this year. Prometheus isn’t exactly a prequel to Alien, but it does go in search of answers that you may have had after watching Alien. (How did those aliens wind up on that planet, anyway?) We can’t promise that you’ll be satisfied by what gets revealed, but we can say that Prometheus shares Alien’s trademark intensity (and occasional horrifying gross-out scares). |

New Girl: The Complete First Season Release Date: October 2, Fox Home Entertainment Sure, this is really the Zooey Deschanel show. You can watch New Girl—one of the most successful sitcoms that debuted last year—just for her retro dresses, her occasional jams on the ukulele, and her all-around general “adorkability,” a word that seems to have been coined just for her. But Deschanel doesn’t keep the spotlight all to herself, and the character who most often steals the scenes from her is played by Dobbs Ferry native Max Greenfield. Going up against such a force of adorkability—and winning? You make us proud, Greenfield. |
