R5 Cabana

“We played with textures and layers to give the space a serene feeling and then added pops of color,” architect and designer Carol Kurth of Bedford says of the cabana and cabana bathroom. “We also used sustainable products where we could,” she adds, referring to accessories such as the three African-esque mirrors made from recycled wood. Pool-water blue and muted chocolate brown are the two colors that run through the majority of the fun decorative pieces and linens found in the adjoining spaces. Both the stone mat in the cabana and the pebble river rocks used on the shower floor give the cabana and bathroom a spa-like feel. Thick, linen-colored window treatments subtly blend with the rest of the décor while ensuring privacy in the changing room.
