R5 Bronxville Walk-On Has Chance at NCAA Football National Championship

Carl Andrew Vergari, of Bronxville, has the chance to join Colt McCoy, Jordan Shipley, and the rest of the Texas Longhorn squad in winning the 2010 National Championship on Thursday night, when they take on the Alabama Crimson Tide. Vergari, a walk-on senior wide-receiver, quarterbacked Bronxville High to the state playoffs in his senior year—but chose the University of Texas for its big campus, not its football team. However, after watching his school upset USC in the 2005 National Championship, he decided he wanted to play football again.
