Yesterday, federal prosecutors yesterday indicted former Democracratic majority leader of the Yonkers City Council, Sandy Annabi; former head of the Yonkers Republican Party, Zehy Jereis; and Westchester attorney Anthony Mangone, on charges of bribery, conspiracy, extortion, and more.
The charges arose over a case that the U.S. attorney’s office has been investigating for years, regarding the 2006 approval of the $685 million Ridge Hill development, as well as the Longfellow project. Allegedly Annabi both requested and accepted bribery payments from developers for both the Ridge Hill project and the Longfellow residential project, as arranged by Jereis and Magone—who were also compensated.
