Petrie-fied!

Many remember Bonnie Meadow Road as the fictitious address of hilarious residents Rob & Laura Petrie of the Dick Van Dyke Show. Well, real-life New Rocheller Mindy Stark is hoping to memorialize the tie between her town and the show. Following Mary Tyler Moore’s death in January, Stark circulated a petition to rename the real-life Bonnie Meadow Road in tribute to the iconic sitcom, which debuted in October 1961. To change its name, Stark had to receive signatures from 70% of the people living on the road — but received 80%, lacking only those residents she was unable to reach. Stark says reception has been great so far, as “people want to support something fun and happy right now.” At press time, Stark said that the street’s new official name was still being discussed but that Mayor Noam Bramson supports the cause. A final determination is expected this fall.
