Pet Centerfold Contest Rules

The deadline to submit photos of your pet is January 11, 2012, and the deadline to cast votes is January 16, 2012. The winner(s) will be announced in the March 2012 issue.
Entrants must post at least one photo and a short description of their pet.

Web visitors can rate any number of entrants but cannot rate an entrant more than once. Pets are rated on a scale of 1 (the lowest) to 5 stars (the highest). Of the 20 pets garnering the most online votes, the Westchester Magazine editorial staff will select 10 to appear in the March 2012 magazine. The staff will select one of the 10 to appear as the centerfold. By submitting photos, entrants agree to terms of publishing materials per Westchester Magazine.

In addition, entrants in the Pet Centerfold Contest agree to these terms and conditions:

ELIGIBILITY AND ODDS OF WINNING: No purchases necessary to enter. Contest open to legal residents of Westchester County, New York, except family members of employees of Today Media, affiliates, subsidiaries, and successor companies.

RESTRICTIONS AND LIMITATION OF LIABILITY: All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply. Westchester Magazine assumes no responsibility or liability whatsoever for damages, loss or injury resulting from participating in any contest or acceptance or use of any prize.

DISQUALIFICATION AND PENALTIES: All participants agree to be bound by these rules. Westchester Magazine, in its sole discretion, further reserves the right to disqualify any person for (i) violating any of these rules, (ii) tampering with the entry process, (iii) gaining an unfair advantage in participating in the contest, (iv) obtaining winner status using fraudulent means, or (v) engaging in otherwise unsportsmanlike, disruptive, or threatening behavior.

FAQs
Can I Enter if I live Outside of Westchester County?
No. If you and your pet live outside Westchester County, you are not eligible to enter the contest.

Is the Contest Limited to Dog Photos and Cat Photos?
All pet types are encouraged to enter. Dog photos and cat photos are of course the bulk of entries. However, our judges make sure the contest is fair and equal for all of our friends, furry, feathered, webbed, or scaled.

How Many Times am I Allowed to Vote?
Web visitors can rate any number of entrants but cannot rate an entrant more than once. In order to receive more votes you should encourage friends and family to vote for your pet.

Can I Have Multiple Pets in the Same Photograph?
The photo should have one pet.

Will My Personal Information Be Viewable Online?
Dog pictures, cat pictures, etc. will be published online for all to see. However, your personal information other than your pet’s information (name, breed, etc) cannot be viewed by anyone other than the judges.

Is the Pet Contest Open to Professional Photographers?
We believe that our pet contest should be limited to non-professional amateur pet photographers. Normal everyday pet lovers that enjoy taking snapshots of their pets are allowed to enter but professional photographer entries should not be submitted.
