At Challenge Day Camp, a summer day camp for academically motivated children located at the School of the Holy Child in Rye, computer teacher Geoffrey Byrne had campers cut off his hair for Pantene’s Beautiful Lengths program, which provides wigs to cancer patients, on August 8. Byrne’s haircut raised $200.

On August 12, The Pound Ridge Golf Club played host to the 2013 Tee It Up ESPN New York Golf Classic—the 9th annual benefit for the V Foundation for Cancer Research. And it wasn’t just a boring old golf game, either. Attendees enjoyed raffles on holes 4, 6, and 11; a Wine on Nine—Closest to the Line contest on the 9th hole; a Closest to the Pin contest on the 15th hole; and a Longest Drive contest on the 18th. While the golf outing was under way, the pro shop patio played host to the live editions of the Mike Lupica and Stephen A. Smith/Ryan Ruocco shows. The event helped raise $14,000 for the V Foundation.
