NYTimes Poll Shows Perception Race Relations Growing Worse

A poll conducted by The New York Times and CBS this past Friday, the day after five police officers were killed in Dallas, reports that 69 percent of Americans view today’s race relations as generally bad. Additionally, 60 percent say that race relations are growing worse; a number that is 38 percent higher than just a year ago, demonstrating racial discontent is at an all time high since the beginning of Obama’s presidency.

According to the study, more than half of black people, and nearly half of white people say they were not surprised by the Dallas attack last week. That alone provides commentary on our perception of the growing tension between the police and the public, but where do you stand on the matter? Do you think race relations are growing worse?
