Sports fans and Westchester businessmen (and women) headed over to 42 The Restaurant on the 42nd floor of the Ritz, Westchester, for Ahmad Rashad’s Second Annual Celebrity Golf Classic Kick Off Party & Cocktail Reception. Sports stars kept pouring in throughout the evening (friends of Ahmad’s), including David Justice (former outfielder and hitter for the Atlanta Braves, Cleveland Indians, and New York Yankees). He flew in from the West Coast, he said, just for the event. We got a chance to speak with Rashad, Justice, Vince Coleman (formerly with the St. Louis Cardinals) and Herb Wiliams (former NBA player and coach for the New York Knicks)—and one thing was clear: all of them came to support Rashad and White Plains Hospital. They were all so tall ( Williams is 6’11- we of average stature look really, really small next to him). We also spotted Carlton (Alfonso Ribeiro) busting out moves on the dance floor at the end of the evening. Remember him? Yes, he’s the famous ‘90s star from The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. The Golf Classic took place at the Quaker Ridge Golf Course in Scarsdale and all proceeds go towards White Plains Hospital.
