Newly Approved Westchester County Budget Includes 2.9% Tax Hike

As if county taxes weren’t high enough—last night, the County Board of Legislators approved the operating budget for 2010, by a 9-8 vote, and includes a tax hike of 2.9%.

What else can you expect next year? The budget includes an estimated sales tax growth of 3.3% in 2010, eliminates 12 vacant and filled staff positions, consolidates the health and mental health departments, and more.
