A former art broker and longtime collector, Elizabeth Ann Dugan launched this contemporary gallery last month in
the historic waterfront building that is also home to the Willet House. Featured are landscape, abstract, figurative, and still-life works ($500-$8,000) by both emerging and established artists from across the country, including Cary Henry of Utah. Known for his textural, fresco-like landscapes that combine oil and acrylic paint, Henry was highlighted as one of 10 top artists to watch in a recent issue of Southwestern Art. Dugan strives to demystify the process of buying art.

Opened this fall, this 35,000- square-foot discount store features 500-plus brands.

Opened earlier this fall, this petite eco-friendly home-décor boutique specializes in designs made from sustainable materials. An acronym for “Office Of Carol Kurth,” OOCK, an offshoot of the architectural firm Kurth founded in 1995, showcases everything from green sustainable cleansers to organic cotton linens and textiles, and window, wall, and floor coverings created from sustainable and recycled materials such as cork or reclaimed wood. Prices range from $12 for luscious lemon-ginger-scented hand soap to $500-plus for custom-made draperies. We were particularly smitten by sensational-looking organic wool and knit pillows ($140-$190) in vibrant oranges and greens. Also available: earth-friendly architectural design and consulting services from the store’s parent company.
