29 King St, Chappaqua (914) 238-2564
This new boutique-within-a-boutique—it occupies about a third of the five-year-old Marmalade gift shop—specializes in au courant gifts for babies, tots, and moms-to-be. “I look for brands not readily available elsewhere,” says owner Kristen McGinty, a Chappaqua mom. You’ll find personalized tees and onesies by Luna B. Tee ($35-$38); the colorful Emily Green line of toddler dish sets ($9-$14); plush, luxurious blankets from My Blankees ($36-$79); Kate Quinn’s organic baby and toddler clothing, hooded towels, and washcloth sets ($18-$40); and the ultra-rich Mama Mio skincare products for moms and moms-to-be ($22-$78).
85 Purchase St, Rye (914) 921-1117
This consignment store was opened recently by Port Chester neighbors Ty Hill, a lawyer, and Renee Drummond, a life coach who managed the former iconic Catch in the Rye boutique. “Because we’re all being more conscious of what we spend,” says Drummond, “we wanted to create a community in which people could sell what doesn’t serve them anymore to others who can make better use of it.” You’ll find an eclectic assortment of clothing for the whole family plus some home accents. We spotted Lilly Pulitzer children’s apparel, True Religion jeans, wedding dresses ($100-$1,000), a yellow-and-black striped Barney’s tie ($25), and a powder-blue Courreges suit—originally $2,000, here for $900.
