Remember the good old days, homeowners? Like, two years ago? That long-ago year your home was worth something (the median sale price of a single-family home then fluctuated between $710,000 and $730,000). Sometime late last year, however, there were a few, ahem, corrections in the housing market amid a troubled national economy. The median sale price this year? It dropped to $565,000 in the second quarter, down more than 20 percent since 2008. It rose during the third quarter to $630,000, but that’s still an 11-percent drop since the not-so-small fortune years. Cheer up, though; it could be worse. You could live in Oklahoma, where the median sale price of a single-family home is $143,000.
